Aims and activities of the organisation
UniWA is a public, self-governed, multi-disciplinary, technology-oriented higher education Institution (5 Faculties, 27 Dept, 20.000 students, 1.000 staff members). Great emphasis is laid on the curricula of the Departments which are continuously revised in order to keep pace with all the recent developments in technology and to be tailored to the needs of the labour market. The students of UniWA acquire theoretical knowledge, but also develop practical skills for organizing and conducting both, research and field practice on the engineering and technology. Read more
UniWA has already involved in research projects financed by EU, the Hellenic Government and other similar bodies. Long lasting and fruitful collaboration exists with many university all over the world for projects related to Erasmus+, e.g. “Curriculum development”, “Quality Assurance”, “Institution building” etc.
UniWA has been successfully accredited, recently (2016), by international committee of experts.
The Faculty of Technological Applications actively promotes and supports the link between academic research and vocational education. It contains departments dedicated to Surveying & Geoinformatics Eng, Civil Eng, Informatics, Energy Technology and Electronics. In other Faculties Disciplines like: Marketing, Tourism Enterprises, Antiquities Conservation, Biomedical Engineering, Health and Caring Professions, Fine Arts etc., belonging to different faculties can support the success of a variety of projects.
Postgraduate study programs offer systematic and comprehensive knowledge in 26 domains; while specific registered laboratories support the resource activities at UniWA.
The role of UniWA in the CLASS project
- Developing an action plan
- Task distribution among the local project team
- Developing, monitoring and approving the master program curriculum
- Creating and maintaining the web site of the project
- Organizing and hosting annual meeting
- Management and monitoring with U.PORTO partner of WP2 activities in CA partner universities
- Creating video rollers for disseminating, sharing experience and for teaching process with blended learning as introduction course.
